Content Providers
The success and popularity of Interactive Television (iTV) will ultimately depend on the content providers. Making their programming interactive — with viewer rating systems, voting processes, access to more information or making a purchase — will increase viewer adoption of iTV. Content providers will range from networks and program producers to independent content producers of games, information and shopping services. iTV applications may be bound to a specific program or may be unbound and available on the delivery platform independent of any specific program. Content providers currently offer viewers (on some delivery platforms) interactive applications ranging from information tickers to games to shopping and information services.
Vidiom Systems has helped content providers to prepare for iTV through the
development of application hosting platforms, multi-user environments and
interactive applications such as the Vidiom iTV Dashboard™, which provide up-to-date information on news, sports, weather and finance. Our work has included
engineering the solution and developing graphic user interfaces (GUI) that are engaging and appealing for the target viewing audience.
Interactive Television (iTV) also creates new opportunities for the content provider. Applications can be developed that help to upsell the programming services offered by the channel or network. In addition, iTV permits the addition of t-Commerce. This means that viewers will be able to order products and services directly from their television rather than having to go to the telephone or the Internet to make their purchase. Both of these functionalities create revenue generation opportunities for the content provider.
Vidiom offers a wide range of products and services that are designed for Content Providers of all types. For more information contact us at . |
