VISION Workbench
VISION Workbench is the industry's only OCAP application development environment that includes an application simulator built with technology developed and distributed by Vidiom for the Time Warner Cable and Comcast “OCAP Development, LLC” joint venture. Now, you can develop and test OCAP applications while sitting at your PC without the need for an OCAP-compliant set-top box or network and without paying application deployment royalties.

Jump Start your Development
VISION Workbench includes client and headend simulators that provide a feature-rich run-time environment for testing and debugging OCAP applications on a PC running Windows XP™.

Vidiom has integrated the same OCAP technology being developed for major MSOs into VISION Workbench, so you can be confident that the applications you design and test in VISION Workbench will run on an OCAP device connected to an OCAP network.

Application Simulator
Running applications in the VISION Workbench application simulator allows you to test the UI design, operation, and interactivity of your application while sitting at your workstation without the time-consuming hassles of testing on a set-top box. While other tools may provide limited application simulation capabilities, VISION Workbench provides a complete OCAP application development and simulation environment that will help you reduce your development cycles, time-to-market, and deployment costs.

OCAP Project Wizard
The VISION Workbench OCAP Project Wizard enables you to quickly create or import an OCAP project. The wizard defines your application template, sets up your build environment, and generates the OCAP properties configuration file for launching run and debug sessions in the simulator.

Development Environment
We integrated our OCAP tools with a pre-configured version of the award-winning Eclipse tools platform. Backed by the Eclipse Consortium and contributors such as IBM and Red Hat, the Eclipse Platform has become the IDE of choice for an increasing number of software developers. The strict plug-in architecture ensures that plug-ins written by other providers will work within VISION Workbench, giving you the flexibility to customize the development environment to fit your needs.

VISION workbench includes the Eclipse Java IDE and debugger to provide you with the solution you need to get started developing OCAP applications.

Sample Applications
VISION Workbench includes sample OCAP application projects and Java source code. These applications show you how to use the OCAP APIs to accomplish tasks like loading applications, tuning, displaying fonts and images, processing user input, scaling video, and more.
